Europe mourns with the people of Greece

The President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola expressed her saddness after the terrible train crash near Larissa in Greece, and sent her and the European Parliament’s condolences to all victims, families and friends.

Two weeks ago, at least 57 people lost their lives in a horrific train crash in Greece. Many more were injured. The process of identification is still underway.

It was a terrible tragedy that shook Greece and the rest of the European Union. We in the European Parliament share the grief of the families and friends who have lost loved ones. We mourn with you. And let me reiterate that the European Union stands ready to assist as required.
