The 16th of October also marks the unhappy anniversary of the murder of French teacher Samuel Paty.
Samuel Paty was a French citizen. A European. A teacher working to help shape the next generations. He was the personification of our European values and freedoms. He was first hounded online before being murdered by those trying to undermine our way of life.
We pay tribute to his memory and his legacy as we step up efforts to go after those spreading hate.
