At the beginning of the Plenary Session, the European Parliament marked the 31st anniversary of the genocide in Srebrenica. In her address, President Metsola said that Parliament is committed to peace, justice and reconciliation.
This week marks 31 years since the genocide in Srebrenica. 31 years of loss, of pain, of trauma that will never go away. Today, this Parliament remembers the thousands of Bosnian Muslims who were murdered and disappeared and the thousands forced into exile. Their memory lives on in this House. And we take this moment to reaffirm our commitment to peace, justice, and reconciliation in Srebrenica and beyond.
