In the wake of recent attacks, the European Parliament expressed its support to Jewish communities across Europe and beyond. In her statement, President Metsola said that we will keep calling out antisemitism, and acting against it.
Recent events show how much we must keep addressing the growing threat of rising antisemitism. In recent weeks, an explosion damaged a synagogue in Rotterdam. In Amsterdam, a Jewish school was bombed. In Michigan, a car full of explosives was driven into a synagogue. In London, Jewish charity ambulances were set on fire. We know that what starts as antisemitism never ends as such. It is a threat to everyone and one that we will not only continue to call out but one that we will act against. Our Jewish communities are an essential part of the fabric of our European societies, and it is important that they all know that they can count on this Parliament.
